Today, I’m excited and mostly honored to have the opportunity to continue helping my community. As most of you know for most of my life I worked as a Holistic Health Coach/Consultant & Operations Manager. I helped hundreds of folks with their health, but most importantly gave my clients the tools they needed to gain the confidence they had lost, when it came to their body/health. The operations side of this was helping a small business grow and flourish, it was truly one of the most favorite parts of my role. When I decided to change careers and be a birth worker, I dived so deep I had to stop all things holistic health, almost immediately. Fast forward to now, I’ve been missing being in community with clients. A random conversation with my mentor Myla from @birthingplacebx led to many other conversations and I was offered an opportunity to be part of @welcometomaryam a Reproductive Health + Wellness clinics, right here in the Bronx. Providing some of the similar services I’m very familiar with. Fast forward to today, I’m happy to announce I will be the Community Outreach & Operations Coordinator. You will be hearing me talk a lot about @welcometomaryam - Thank you to everyone who has followed my journey and continues to follow me on here. Your support is much appreciated. PS. It has taken me hours to post this because there’s so much I want to say but at the same time not enough. Hilda has officially retired and is leaving tomorrow. This is the woman who taught me all I know about holistic health/ herbs and sooooo much more. What I learned from her doesn’t have a price tag. It was an honor working alongside @dra_hilda and now is time for her to step into her next journey in Dominican Republic. I will continue to honor her teachings with integrity & continue serving the community as she always did and continues to do. Cheers to the next chapter 🎉

Exciting news!- Honored to say I’m now part of @bxrebirthcollective I often think back on how this all began for me. Sometimes, when you are wrapped into this work, you forget. Time passes you by. It was 2 years ago when I had my third baby and when the thought of perhaps changing careers crossed my mind. The truth is that I never saw myself leaving my role at my previous place of employment. However, feelings changed when @_miltalee became my postpartum doula. I wanted to do the same for my people. Specially my Bronx people. Im excited and grateful, can’t wait to learn and grow from my @bxrebirthcollective family 🤍

Today is a very special day here. When I started my business, I created a website that was simple and to the point. I was lucky enough to get many clients via referrals, collectives and community. A few here and there via my website. I knew one day, I wanted to invest on a website that reflected more of my work but the time never felt right. Fast forward to 2024 I met @joyfulhopevirtualservices, the vibe felt right and so we hit it off and this is what came out of it. Today, was simply beautiful, I went to visit my client and we spoke about her birth and all the things. To my surprise she gave me a bag filled with thoughtful gifts 🥺 I swear my heart can’t take it. This is a birth I will vividly remember. It was the first c-section in which I was able to join my client in the OR. For those who may not know, during a C-Section, if the client has 2 support people only 1 is allowed in the OR. So we as doulas are left waiting for our clients which can be stressful 😣 It’s a whole process. But with this birth I got to support my client and I even made sure her favorite song was playing and we prayed. The staff was giving me the side eye as I played “Chandler Moore - Powerful Worship” I get chills just typing this, when I tell you there was power in that room. My client had been in pre-labor for so many days and then labor for even longer. She is so strong and I’m just so honored that I got to be part of this moment. Thank you God for without you I wouldn’t be able to do this work. 🤍

I’m a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator and holistic health consultant. For over a decade, I worked at a holistic health center & helped folks find their way back to health. The folks in our community trust the medical system with their eyes close. Now hear me out, I strongly believe that modern medicine is important. Modern medicine saved my daughters live. However, as a holistic health consultant I’ve sat with hundreds of folks in our community who had lost all hope in regaining their health. In only 6 weeks via holistic therapies and quality herbal supplements these same folks would recover more than 50% of their health back. My clients regained their confidence when it came to their health and learned how to advocate for themselves within the medical system. Fast forward to now, I get to help folks in a similar way during their pregnancy, birth and beyond. I’ve been a doula shy of two years now, I’ve helped many people advocate for themselves and feel confident during their birth. The name “thewholelisticdoula” came out of my experience with holistic health. I strongly believe that pregnancy,birth and postpartum should be looked as a whole. We cannot have one without the other, but also we must look at the body as a whole for each period, each time should be respected equally. A letter from a doula: Dear birthday twin, I was there during your birth, there during early postpartum and now I’ve had the honor to take care of you everyday as one of my own. Our time is coming to an end next month and I’m sure you will be in great hands. May God always protect and keep you safe. I will always be here for whatever you need ❤️

My time with this family is coming to an end I can say that I will miss them so much. With this particular family I have felt great joy being able to support mom while Dad works from home. As a mom of 2 + pets she has needed all the support she can get. Baby boy was born on my birthday and this is the first family I’ve supported for both birth and postpartum and I feel an immense sense of joy being able to support from start to “finish” — I say finish because postpartum care really doesn’t finish here. If you have a friend/family member who is expecting gift them a doula. Today on my birthday, I had the honor of helping bring life on to this world. It was such a crazy feeling. I cried. I cried of joy, of happiness, of everything. I celebrated my birthday in the best way possible today. I want to thank my client @agom3z17 for allowing me to be part of this. For allowing me to guide the way. The truth is that every birth is different, this was her second birth and it was different in many ways. She rocked it, the way she pushed her baby out breath after breath, giving it her all. It was beautiful to witness. I’m her postpartum doula as well and I get to support her at home! Last baby of 2023, what an amazing this year this has been for me. Cheers to 35 and to new life. 🤍

This is a long post so get ready! - Where to I begin! In 2010, I started to visit My Wellness Solutions as a client. I fell in love with their mission. Shortly after I was offered a job there. I had zero clue what I was doing. I was only 20 years old, no college degree, no experience. I was given the opportunity of a life time. I started as a front desk receptionist and due to my efforts, work ethics and more I was promoted to manager. I fell in love with all things holistic. I became obsessed with helping folks. I saw first hand how terribly wrong our medical system is set up, folks were regaining 50% of their health back with our herbs and holistic therapies. The last 14 years I’ve had the pleasure of helping hundreds of clients with Fertility, PCOS, Constipation, Eczema, Anxiety, Postpartum healing, Thyroid support, Hair loss and so much more. I will forever be grateful that I was given this opportunity. It has mold me in the doula I am today. I don’t like to say goodbye but see you later because part of me will always be with MWS. To my clients I love you and thank you for trusting me with your health. This will be my last month with MWS so I’ve you’ve been meaning to schedule a visit with me please do so!
